German foreign minister Baerbock visits an orthodox church in Ukraine and declares that those responsible must be held accountable for their actions in Ukraine.  She is the first German Bundestag member to visit the country since hostilities began.

The first throne speech by Prince Charles whilst Queen Elizabeth is absent is noted.  Queen Elizabeth had previously missed two other throne speeches during her reign; both due to pregnancies.

A prediction by the UN climate committee that the average world temperature will increase by 1.5 degrees celsius is a cause for concern.  A forest caretaker with 500 years of history in the region is profiled.  He notes that he must resort to the more resilient North American Douglas fir for forest upkeep.
